In order to make planning your wedding as stress free as possible, we have designed the following guidelines and timetable to assist you. We hope it help you and makes your planning easier.

Firstly consider the following : 9 – 12 months

Decide upon a date of wedding

Prices for venue and other items are sometimes cheaper in the autumn and winter periods!
Consider the number of functions:
  • Engagement
  • Mehndi Party
  • Sanji
  • Registry
  • Wedding Ceremony
  • Reception
Will these functions be on the same or separate days?
 
Choose a venue with civil licence if you want the Registry and Civil Ceremony on the same day! – This will save costs
Having the wedding reception on the same day as the ceremony – will save cost.
Style of your Wedding
  • Seated Dinner
  • Dancing
  • Alcohol
  • Music – live band or DJ
   
Who will you invite to each function?  
Make a separate guest list for each function.

Decide overall budget, and how will this be financed and how much will be contributed?

This budget may change once you research more into costs but always good to have an initial guideline.
     

After decisions to the above have been made between you both and your families, then you need to start doing the following:

9 – 12 months

The Wedding Registrar  
Either to come to venue or Registry Office.
The Priest  
Choose one who can translate in English for you.
Venue – What style

Beware that some venues will only allow their preferred Asian caterer.

9 – 12 months

Caterers and Waiters  
Make sure they are versatile caterers who can meet all your needs.
Make sure they have worked in the venue you choose and have all the necessary health and safety insurance and other documentations.

Choose someone that you feel comfortable with and have a rapport with

Guest follow-up calls to avoid those that would get disappointed if they have not received a personal invitation.
     
Purchase gift for each other
 
Something personal, special and meaningful.
Organise thank you gift for both mothers
     
Purchase honeymoon clothes!
     
     

4 – 6 Weeks

Get all your honeymoon money changed up.
   
Visit the venue and finalise your whole itinerary of the day.
   
Start to finalise seating arrangements
   
Follow-up late invitation replies
   
Keep all those family/ friends updated with list who are assisting.
   

3 Weeks

Get all name cards and menu cards printed
   
Finalise table plans and layout
If you are having named seating, put all name cards in table number bags so its easy to place with table seating plan.
   
     

1- 2 Weeks

Final checks on everything, re-confirm everything with all your suppliers:

Have a list of all the suppliers contact numbers. Give list to key members assisting you.    
Confirm all transport arrangement    
Get all outfits ironed and packed    
Get all gifts that you are giving wrapped    
Finalise guest list and finalise table seating plan    
Pack suitcase for honeymoon

This is easy to do in advance if you have gift list service.
Make sure your have a sparkling smile for your photos.

1 – 3 Days

Relax and book yourself a treat Overseas guest- organise someone to pick them up from the airport  
Book a bridal or groom beauty pampering session. Do these treatments 4 days prior as it will let any redness to calm down
Check passports, tickets and keep them ready and in a safe place  
Make sure you remember where you keep them!
Arrange for drinks to be delivered to the venue.
